Execs into Business
Do you have experience leading a company and want to make a big impact with a new challenge? Northern Accelerator recruits experienced business leaders to lead some of the most innovative spin-out businesses from the North East’s world-class universities. The Executives into Business model has so far placed 35 business executives in companies in a range of sectors, and is an exemplar in research commercialisation. The execs form a team with some of the greatest academic minds to lead a company from pre-startup, taking world-leading research ‘from lab to life’, making a social impact as well as boosting job creation and economic growth in the region. If you have experience leading a company, delivering products or services from ideation through to launch, raising investment and venture capital, and management experience, find out more about joining our Executives into Business pool. Once you’re in the pool you’ll have the opportunity to put yourself forward for specific opportunities as they arise. Execs into Business opportunities are high-responsibility positions, in a micro business environment so you’ll be a hands-on business leader balancing multiple tasks and making rapid and considered business decisions. In return, with funding from ERDF and Research England’s Connecting Capability Fund, we’re able to offer the best business leaders remuneration as well as business shares. Register now to find out more about Northern Accelerator and Execs into Business, and hear from the CEO of a Newcastle University spin-out company, at our event on 19 October 2021. What do Northern Accelerator execs into business do? Roles vary for each opportunity, but generally our executives: - Develop a business plan that has considered the best sales and go-to market strategy - Work with the existing team to map out the key activities and resources needed to finalise product development - Raise funds to support the development and commercialisation activities - Implement the correct quality systems to ensure regulatory requirements are met - Develop an innovation pathway for other products or new applications They’re also responsible for legal compliance, mission, policy and planning, management, financing and market development. If Execs into Business isn't for you, but you know someone who may be interested, please feel free to point them in our direction. It could be just the opportunity they are looking for. This event is free to attend, but you must register your place [Save my seat](https://www.entrepreneursforum.net/events/event/save-a-seat/?id=6614 "Save my seat - Entrepreneurs' Forum Events") .

Zero Carbon Tour
The #ZeroCarbonTour is headed to Newcastle as we make our way through the UK to COP26 in Glasgow in November, sharing the net zero message with the business community. We’re accelerating the UN-backed Race to Zero as part of the UK's #TogetherForOurPlanet campaign. Join us and our local hosts, North East Local Enterprise Partnership as we discuss the concept of net zero carbon and why it is critical for businesses in this #DecadeOfAction. Hear Carbon Stories from like-minded local people, organisations and community groups and the impactful projects they are undertaking to reduce their carbon emissions. Shaping a brighter future is not something any one organisation can achieve alone. It requires collaborative and decisive action that will create a future of unprecedented business opportunities – finding new growth and talent, lowering costs and building greater resilience. On the day, you’ll see the UK's first 100% electric coach, affectionately named the ‘Carbon Battle Bus’, find out more about the UN-backed Race to Zero campaign and hear Carbon Stories and discussions with local people, organisations and community groups. A ‘notes to COP26’ message wall will allow you send your message to COP26 leaders as the Tour collects opinions from individuals and communities before heading to Glasgow in the autumn.
