AkzoNobel are looking to recruit a Data Science Engineer and a Research and Development Data Scientist. Both roles are aimed at undergraduates studying for a data science related degree who are looking for a year in industry as part of their course.
AkzoNobel has a strategic relationship with the National Innovation Centre for Data (NICD) and this placement, will give the successful candidates the opportunity to gain experience working alongside NICD experts – solving problems and learning new skills and putting them into practice in practical projects. This Industrial Placement is within the Innovation Incubator team and will start in the summer of 2021.
IOTech are looking for world-class talent to shape the future of the Internet of Things (IoT). They are a recognised leader in Edge Computing and are recruiting for both a senior and graduate software engineer.
Urban Foresight, the UK’s leading place-based innovation consultancy is also recruiting for ambitious consultants who can take leading roles in winning and delivering projects. They are looking for experienced individuals to lead projects focused on smart cities, place-based innovation, and digital transformation.
Newcastle University’s Brain and Movement Research Team, who have an office in The Catalyst, are looking for a Research Assistant/Associate. The team have an established international reputation in gait analysis and are looking for someone who is interested in human movement, wearable technology, and digital outcomes. The project is funded through the Medical Research Council (MRC) Confidence in Concept (CiC) Award and aims to look at the use of wearable technology, in real-world setting, to study medication adherence in people with Parkinson’s disease and its impact on their mobility. This project will also be a sub-study of the clinical validation study within Mobilise-D, a consortium of world’s leading scientists, clinicians, and companies aiming at connecting digital mobility assessment to clinical outcomes for regulatory and clinical endorsement
Baltic Apprenticeships expanded into a new office at Newcastle Helix last year. They were the first training provider to offer a completely digital apprenticeship training platform, using tech to teach tech. They help people launch careers in data, digital marketing, IT and software development through their specialist apprenticeship programmes. They are embedded within the North East tech eco-system and strive to broaden access to tech apprenticeships, address emerging recruitment needs, and close the digital skills gap. Baltic Apprenticeships are currently recruiting for 8 apprentices across Newcastle and Gateshead, with fresh opportunities being created every week.
Meanwhile over at The Core, a building where innovative SME’s are based, SoPost and PHMR are recruiting for a total of 11 exciting positions. SoPost who are one of the fastest growing tech companies in the UK are looking for bright and talented people to join their rapidly growing teams based in Newcastle, London, and NYC. They are looking for Remote Software Developers, a Finance Business Partner, Senior Engineers and three Product Managers.
PHMR, a successful international team of highly qualified health economists and research scientists, are offering a range of opportunities within HEOR, economic modelling, medical statistics, real-world evidence, HTA, value communications and market access. Their trusted expertise and approach to science resulted in the recent acquisition placing PHMR within the Putnam Associates and the wider Ashfield Advisory group. Newcastle Helix will eventually create more than 4,000 jobs, 500,000 sq. ft of office and research space, and 450 new homes with all 24-acres is dedicated to helping everyone live better lives.
