Newcastle Helix exists to help us all live better lives. Easier, healthier, smarter and longer. Our focus is on data science, urban science and life science. Together, we’re transforming the quality of life for families, communities and cities around the world.
Helix is a 24-acre (~10ha) innovation district in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne. It is an exemplar of sustainable urban regeneration combining prestigious commercial and residential space with first-class research and education facilities in the heart of the city. Helix is buzzing with events where you can learn, co-create and collaborate. There is a strong café culture on site too with several outlets and frequent pop-ups.

The project emphasises sustainable development through green building practices, energy-efficient technologies, and initiatives to reduce carbon footprint such as our District Energy Centre, providing heat and power to the buildings on site whilst reducing our carbon footprint by 40,000 tonnes over its lifetime. Our overarching vision It aims is to test and to create replicable models for sustainable urban living.
