The National Innovation Centre for Data

The National Innovation Centre for Data is delivering key technical and practical data skills into organisations. This improves business competitiveness and drives growth by unleashing the the huge potential for innovation offered by the explosive growth in digital data.

The global economy is undergoing a data-driven revolution. Exponential growth in the volume of personal and professional data is raising huge new opportunities and challenges for organisations and individuals. Properly processed and analysed, data can lead to radical innovations, enabling significant value creation.

As part of the Government’s Industrial and Digital Strategy, the National Innovation Centre for Data plays a key role in enabling the UK economy to compete and thrive in the new data-driven global marketplace.

The Centre aims to:

  • deliver insights that make UK organisations aware of the value of data
  • deliver data analytics skills into the workforce of UK organisations
  • connect UK organisations into networks of data skills.

In late 2019 the Centre will move into a new building on the Helix site. The Catalyst is a £50M purpose-built home for both the National Innovation Centre for Data and the National Innovation Centre for Ageing.
